WEDDING BELLS AND WAGGING TAILS
JULY 2026
Here are a few things to think about if you’re considering having your dog as part of your day:
Who will look after your dog?
You won’t have time to focus on them. You’ll need to designate someone you trust, a friend or family member or professional dog sitter, to be responsible for your pup throughout the day.
Hire a dog walker or sitter?
Even if someone in your family can watch your dog, it’s worth thinking about a hiring a professional dog walker or sitter. They’ll ensure your dog gets breaks, exercise and stays calm, so you don’t have to worry and also means your family member doesn’t miss key parts of your day.
Decide how involved your want your dog to be
Think about your dogs temperament, age and comfort level, a long day with lots of people and activity may be overwhelming so opting for them just to be around the ceremony or even photos may be useful.
Little extras:
-Bring water bowls, food and treats to keep your dog happy
-Make sure your photographer knows your dog will be involved (got to get those cute pics)
-Consider a cute ‘doggy outfit’, bowtie collar or floral piece for extra cuteness
-Be aware of mucky paws on your outfit if your dog is used to jumping up when he sees you!
Dogs make everything better! Just plan ahead so both you, your guests and your 4-legged friend have an amazing day!
